Castorseed futures fall on weak demand

Castorseed prices fell by Rs 62 to Rs 4,580 per quintal in the futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions amid thin export as well as domestic demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, castorseed prices for delivery in April contracts traded Rs 62, or 1.34 per cent, lower at Rs 4,580 per quintal, with an open interest of 20,080 lots.
Similarly, January month contracts slipped by Rs 50, or 1.13 per cent, to Rs 4,383 per quintal, having an open interest of 18,490 lots, while the most-active February contracts remained under pressure, and lost Rs.48, or 1.07 per cent at Rs 4,445 per quintal, in an open interest of 1,89,290 lots.
Marketmen said fall in export deamnd against increased supplies in the spot markets, mainly put pressure on castorseed prices.
