Castorseed futures recover on renewed demand

In contrast, in spot market trade castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial eased due to reduced demand from shippers and soap industries.

Meanwhile, groundnutoil, refined palmolein and linseed oil held steady owing to lack of any major buying activity.

In futures, castorseeds for the September contract opened slightly lower at Rs 3,470 later, drifted to Rs 3,455 before ending at Rs 3,493 against Rs 3,474 yesterday, showing a gain of Rs 19 per tonne.

Turning to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold moved down by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,250 from Friday's closing level of Rs 3,275 and castoroil commercial went down by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 680 from Rs 685. Linseedoil closed unchanged at Rs 740 per 10 kg.

However, moving to edible segment, groundnutoil and refined palmolein were unaltered at Rs 1,190 and Rs 618, respectively.
