Market players said cutting down of positions by participants amid subdued demand in the spot markets, led to the fall in prices in futures trade.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for April delivery slipped by Rs 18, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 4,817 per quintal, with an open interest of 11,350 lots.
Castorseed delivery for most-traded second contract May also eased by Rs 16, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 4,887 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 1,04,410 lots.
