Marketmen said tight supplies against strong demand in spot markets mainly led to rise in the prices of castorseed here in future trading.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castorseed for delivery in most-active far-month April contracts advanced by Rs 17 or 0.41 per cent to Rs 4,194 per quintal, with an open interest of 67,140 lots.
Castorseed for delivery this month contracts too gained Rs 15 or 0.37 per cent to Rs 4,120 per quintal, having an open interest of 37,850 lots.
