Cattle trader booked for allegedly cheating customers

The Markapur town police registered a case of cheating several people, against a resident of Karnataka state, a police official said here today.
According to Markapur town sub inspector of police Y Srihari, a complaint was received by that Somasekhar had cheated a woman to the tune of Rs 9.8 lakh, besides several others from Markapur town of Prakasam district.
The police official said that Somasakhar started a cattle business in Markapur town three months ago. He took away unproductive cattle from cattle owners and gave them milch cattle.
Initially, he ran his business in a trustworthy manner but began defaulting on payments later.
Later, he went missing and his cellular phone was switched off, the police official said.
Somasekhar cheated around 12 people to whom he owes dues worth about Rs 1 crore, the police official said, adding that the police is trying to locate him.
