The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Zaka Ashraf said the special measures included sending a vigilance officer with the team, having the players adhere to a special code of conduct and a one-to-one briefing before the team left for the UK next month.
"We will be sending a vigilance officer with the team so that they are no unwelcome elements around the team and the players also don't get trapped into any scandal. We don't want the mistakes of the last tour to England repeated again," Ashraf said here today.
Pakistan cricket was rocked in 2010 during a tour to England when the News of the World tabloid broke the story about spot-fixing which led to the suspension and then bans on former captain Salman Butt and his teammates Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir.
The three are presently serving minimum five year bans from the anti-corruption tribunal of the ICC and last year also served different jail sentences in the UK for their role in the spot-fixing scandal.
"So we don't want the same thing or mistakes happening again. This time we are going to be very careful and cautious. We are going to have a special code of conduct for the players and I will be briefing them myself about what we expect them to do on the tour," he said.
