According to sources, the Board discussed the findings of the Benegal panel in a meeting earlier this week and is learnt to have agreed on the aspect that there can be more categories under which films are classified.
Sources, however, said that the Board will in coming days forward its opinion on the various aspects of the report and the certification process to the Information and Broadcasting ministry.
The I&B ministry is already working on a legislation on the functioning of the CBFC and the entire film certification process.
The Benegal panel had suggested additional categories for films so that the use of scissors can be minimised.
