Deputy Commandant Manmeet Pokhariyal who was posted at Central Police Canteen at Lodhi Road had allegedly demanded from the representative Rs one lakh for getting his firms listed on the canteen, according to press information offcier of CBI R K Gaur.
Once the firms were listed on the CPC, Pokhariyal allegedly started demanding bribe from the representative for extending the favour, he said.
The representative approached the CBI with a complaint against the officer which registered a case under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
"A case was registered U/s 7 of PC Act 1988 against the Deputy Commandant, CRPF. It is alleged in the FIR that Deputy Commandant, CRPF had assured the complainant that the firms he is representing will be listed in CPC.
"As per his assurance, the firms represented by the complainant were listed in CPC and the Deputy Commandant was demanding a bribe of Rs One lakh from complainant for favouring the firms," CBI spokesperson said here.
After registration of the case, CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. One lakh from the complainant, he said.

The agency carried out searches at the house of the CRPF officer and seized cash worth Rs 3.20 lakh (approx) along with other documents, he said.
A court later remanded him in judidical custody for one day.
