CBI arrests engineer for accepting bribe

The CBI today arrested an engineer at the office of Garrison Engineer at Solmara Air Force station in Sonitpur district while accepting a bribe.
A 10-member CBI team raided the office of the Garrison Engineer, located at Solmara Air force station in Sonitpur district, and caught red-handed engineer Jigar Divedi while he was taking a huge amount of money as bribe and some chemicals from a contractor in the office, a CBI official said.
The CBI team, before conducting the raid in the office, had gathered sufficient inputs and received number of complaints against the department by different quarters, the official said.

CBI may conduct more investigations against officials of the Commander Works Engineer office of Military Engineering Services here on charges of alleged involvement of officials and contractors in corruption, they said.
