CBI arrests two in bribery cases

CBI has arrested a Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya and a Senior Divisional Material Manager of Railways in separate cases for allegedly receiving bribe for clearing bills of contractors.
T Khan, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya-1, Air Force Station Chakeri in Kanpur was arrested while he was allegedly receiving part payment of Rs 1.01 lakh bribe.
"The complainant alleged that the Principal had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs 1.01 lakh for awarding canteen tender and clearing his pending bills," CBI spokesperson said here today.
She said CBI laid a trap and caught him while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from the complainant as part payment.
Searches are being conducted at the residential and office premises of the accused, she said.
In a separate case, CBI arrested a Senior Divisional Material Manager, South East Central Railway, Nagpur Ajay Kumar for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000.
The spokesperson said a case was registered for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 1.07 lakh from a Railway Supplier.
"CBI caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting part payment of Rs 20,000 as bribe in his office from the complainant. Searches at the office and residence of accused at Nagpur were conducted," she said.
