CBI arrests two MES officers for graft

The CBI has arrested a Deputy Commander Works Engineer for alleged bribery in Ferozepur of Punjab.
According to CBI sources, Deputy Commander Works Engineer S V Karemani and LDC Gurjant Singh demanded bribe of Rs 15,000 from a builder to issue him certificate of change in his company structure.
The sources said the builder had sought to change the structure of his company for which he had applied in the office of the Deputy Commander Works Engineer.
It is alleged that the bribe was demanded for giving the builder the original copy of the office order clearing the changes in his company structure, they said.

The Deputy Commander Works Engineer assists the Commander Works Engineers, who are mid-ranking officers in the MES.
