CBI books PWD official for corruption

The CBI has registered a case of corruption against an assistant director in the public works department here for allegedly manipulating the tendering process.
It is alleged that Ravinder Kumar, Assistant Director (Horticulture), Delhi government, opened 62 tenders worth Rs 1.16 crore for the supply of plants and other items between April and September last year, out of which 51 were found to be fake.
The CBI FIR has alleged Kumar fabricated computer- generated documents regarding the opening of tenders.
The FIR says Kumar used fake IDs for preparing and uploading tender documents on the NIC website.
He also generated forged papers related to opening of technical and financial bids, it alleged.
The agency today carried out searches at his residence and office premises, a CBI spokesperson said.
