The Opposition party also questioned CBI's silence saying it raised more questions than answers" on the role of those accompanying Ishrat.
"The BJP thinks, this charge sheet which has been filed... Very clearly underplays the role of LeT, underplays the role of terrorists and certainly indicts the security apparatus and demoralises them in the process," BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said.
She said even the Prime Minister would have been briefed about the inputs provided by IB to the Gujarat government on the encounter.
"The IB from then is effectively reporting to central government... Information which has been shared with Gujarat Police are not done at the personal level but at the institutional level and that would have been simultaneously briefed even to the Prime Minister," she said.
"If these inputs were given to Gujarat Police, were these also shared with the central government under whom the IB works," she asked, seeking to know the central government's view on this matter.
