Sources in CBI told PTI that Mitra was interrogated after obtaining the court's permission when he was produced before it.
The CBI counsel had maintained in the court that interrogation of Mitra was necessary for stitching the loose ends in the probe.
The court had allowed CBI to conduct judicial interrogation in the presence of defense counsel, a plea which was made by the lawyers appearing on behalf of the accused.
Mitra was arrested by CBI in December last year for his alleged involvement in the multi-crores worth Saradha scam and is at present in judicial remand.
