CBI has questioned IG (Central Range) R P Koche in connection with the chit fund scam in Odisha involving Seashore Group of Companies.
Koche was questioned by a DSP rank officer of CBI at an undisclosed location in the state capital city last evening after his name was found in the diary of broker Subhankar Nayak, who was arrested in 2014 for alleged links with Seashore Group, sources said.
The IPS officer of 1993 batch, today admitted that he had been asked to clarify certain facts in connection with the chit fund scam.
Without revealing much about the questioning, the IGP said he replied to queries of CBI over the case. "They had sought certain clarification. I have replied to all of them," Koche said.
Nayak played the role of a conduit between the Seashore Group and some influential bureaucrats and IPS officers, politicians and others at high positions.
CBI had earlier grilled former Crime Branch DIG Rajesh Kumar and IPS officer Satish Gajbhiye over their alleged links with Seashore Group.
