CBI quizzes police officer in RTI activist murder case

Digaonkar was called to CBI office in Mumbai and was questioned at length by the officials and his statement about the case was recorded.

He was the Superintendent of Police (Rural) when Shetty was killed by unidentified assailants who attacked him with swords while he was on his morning walk on January 13, 2010.

CBI officials said that they wanted to know what the then SP had to say about the murder.

The CBI has announced a reward of Rs five lakh to any person who will give credible information regarding the accused involved in the conspiracy and murder of the RTI activist.

The CBI had earlier this month got court's permission to conduct lie detector tests on 10 people including seven policemen and director of a private construction company in connection with the case.
