The agency has turned down the request from the Delhi Police, routed through the Home Ministry, to probe the allegations of bribery against seven Delhi Police officials as it feels the matter can be investigated by the police themselves.
The sources said there was no need of a probe by CBI in such a case as Delhi Police were competent enough to handle it based on video tapes.
They said the agency had considered the request from the Delhi Police to probe the case but when the material was analysed it was found that there were no such complications which cannot be probed by them.
All those shown accepting bribes were suspended and corruption cases were registered against them, they said.
Soon after registering a case in this regard, Delhi Police had requested the Union Home Ministry to transfer the case to CBI to ensure a fair probe in the matter.
