CCI-PMG projects made good progress in Odisha: Official

The Centre today said different projects being implemented under the Cabinet Committee on Investment and Project Monitoring Group (CCI-PMG) have made substantial progress in Odisha.
"There has been substantial progress in the projects because of this collaborative action between state and central government machineries. A number of issues have been resolved. We are quite satisfied by the progress," said Shubha Kumar, Joint Secretary in Prime Minister's Office.
Around 31 projects in the Railways, National Highways, Irrigation, Plastic and Polymer Cluster, Coal Block Development and Power Sector were reviewed at a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary A P Padhi.
The issues flagged by the project proponents in the central PMG portal were analysed and resolved, an official said adding, mainly the issues raised by project developers related to forest clearance, DGPS survey, conduct of socio-economic impact studies, issue of FRA certificate, environmental clearance, rehabilitation against the land acquisition, distribution of compensatory awards and ex-gratia grants.
The Railway projects reviewed in the meeting included Khurda-Bolangir new BG rail link estimated at Rs 3,550 crore, Samablpur-Bamur doubling estimated at Rs 1,111 crore, Haridaspur-Paradeep rail link of 82 kms, Talcher-Bimlagarh new rail line estimated around Rs 8,111 crore, Angul-Sukinda new line project estimated around Rs 638 crore and Jharsuguda-Barpali-Sardega railway line at an estimated cost of Rs 700 crore.
The National Highway projects reviewed were Tileibani-Sambalpur section NH-6 with an estimated cost of around Rs 752 cr, Binjhabahal-Tileibani section on NH-6 estimated at around Rs 1,057 crore and many others.
