Competition Commission of India (CCI) has said it did not find any prima-facie evidence of violation of fair trade norms.
It was alleged that the company abused its dominant position by imposing unfair conditions upon persons procuring life insurance policies from it.
"As such, the Commission finds that no prima facie case is made out for directing the Director General to carry out investigation into the matter under Section 26(1) of the Act. However, informant is free to explore other remedies for its grievances," the regulator said in an order dated February 12.
"Though the informant has alleged that Opposite Party (OP) enjoyed a dominant position, there is no material provided to support his contention in this regard," the order said.
