Competition Commission has dismissed allegations of anti-competitive ways made against chairpersons of jewellery-maker Joyalukkas India and realty firm Puravankara Project as well as three other individuals.
The complaint, filed by a property dealer, has been dismissed with the fair trade regulator concluding that the allegations related to a "personal money dispute" and does not raise any competition concerns.
The allegations were made against five individuals (opposite parties) -- Joyalukkas India chairman Joy Alukkas, business partner Jolly Joy Alukkas, Puravankara Project Pvt Ltd chairman Ravi Puravankara, its general manager Renjith Thomas and realty firm Link India Homes' director Josekuttan.
Among others, it was alleged that the complainant was not paid the commission with regard to sale of 16 acres of land at a place in Ernakulam, Kerala.
Rejecting the complaint, Competition Commission of India (CCI) said the allegations "relate to a personal money dispute" and as such do not raise any competition concern.
"Further, it is observed that nothing is stated in the information or available in the public domain which can disclose that there exists an agreement amongst the OPs (opposite parties) which can be considered as anticompetitive in terms of Section 3 of the Act," the regulator said in a recent order.
Section 3 pertains to anti-competitive agreements.
