In a complaint with the CCI, Ohm Value Services Ltd had alleged that Janta Land Promoters had imposed unfair and one-sided terms and conditions in agreements related to allotment of industrial plot at sector 82, Mohali in Punjab.
In an order dated October 27, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) said that it found "no prima facie case" of violation of fair trading norms by Janta Land Promoters.
CCI noted that Janta Land Promoters "may be one of the reputed players in the real estate market for industrial plots, but it cannot be said to be a dominant player."
"In the absence of dominance of the opposite party in the relevant market, its conduct cannot be examined under the provisions... Of the (Competition) Act," it added.
The Commission also observed that presence of other firms in the market indicated that the complainant had the option to switch to other players.
