A press release from the Chief Minister's Office said that Kiran reviewed procurement of cotton and paddy at a meeting with officials today.
The Chief Minister also asked the officials to procure paddy that was damaged in the recent cyclone Nilam, it said.
"Farmers need not panic. The government will fully procure the discoloured paddy and also ensure minimum support price (MSP) for cotton," the release quoted the Chief Minister as saying.
Kiran Kumar Reddy also directed state Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew to appoint special officers to monitor cotton procurement.
Meanwhile, the state government today announced enhancement of input subsidy for damaged crops from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 per hectare effective today.
The state government had earlier enhanced input subsidy from Rs 4,500 to Rs 6,000 per hectare in 2010.
