Currently, over 340 major railway stations have been provided with CCTV cameras across the country for round-the- clock surveillance by Railway Protection Force for the security of passengers, Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain said.
Instructions were issued by Railway Board during July, 2014 to all Zonal Railways for extending the use of CCTVs to monitor cleanliness at such stations, he said.
In order to further emphasise the use of CCTVs for monitoring cleanliness, detailed implementation guidelines were issued by Railway Board to all Zonal Railways in May, 2016.
