The Urban Development department of the government prepared the CDs and distributed them to concerned MPs, MLAs and Resident Welfare Association seeking their support in carrying out development works in the settlements.

The government has also sanctioned a sum of Rs 200 crore for carrying out development works in the colonies.

"The CDs have been distributed among MLAs, MPs and RWAs so as to apprise them about boundaries, maps and other relevant information regarding the settlements," officials said.

They said basic purpose of preparing the CDs is to ensure better coordination among all concerned parties in carrying out the developmental works.

The maps of the colonies were prepared by the Survey of India.

Out of 895 colonies which were regularised yesterday, 312 settlements are on private land while 583 colonies came up on government land.

The city government had regularised the colonies on September 5 and unveiled a roadmap for their overall development.

Officials said civic agencies will start the process of making the layout plans for the colonies.

Delhi Government had issued provisional regularisation certificates to over 1,639 unauthorised colonies ahead of assembly polls in 2008. The then Dikshit government, while distributing the certificates, had promised to regularise the colonies if Congress came to power for the third term.
