Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat met the representatives of seven political parties in Jaipur on Monday to discuss the issues related to the upcoming Assembly election in Rajasthan.
Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party submitted a memorandum to the commissioner, demanding elections in the state in two phases. The representatives sought adequate security and administrative force for a free-and-fair election, a BJP spokesperson said.
The commissioner flagged-off two 'sweep raths' in Jaipur urban constituencies, which will disseminate and sensitise people about the EVM-VVPAT voting machines.
Rawat also released literature and CDs related to the election campaigning and inaugurated 'sweep exhibition' related to pictures of past elections.
