There has been a debate for sometime now whether the celebrities endorsing a brand should be taken into account if it fails quality checks.
Last year, an FIR was registered against megastar Amitabh Bachchan and actresses Preity Zinta and Madhuri Dixit Nene for featuring in Maggi advertisements besides two top officials of its company Nestle India after a lawyer complained that he was taken ill after eating the 'two-minute' noodle.
When asked about his opinion on the issue, Shah Rukh said, "There is only limited knowledge that we have of everything. Like I cannot be an expert on how a car drives but yes you check the company, its experience and you go by that...
"There is a responsibility (of the stars) to check and cross check and there is a limited responsibility because there are institutions, checking points to check things much before the actor comes in the picture. So if I see a product with ISI mark, I will assume it has been checked..."
The film hits theatres this Friday, April 15.
