Cell to Promote Ayurveda Industry

Government-to-Government (G2G) promotional initiatives are the need of the hour to market Ayurveda and its techniques at a global level, Kerala Home Minster Ramesh Chennithala, today said.
Inaugurating the International Business meet on Ayurveda at the ongoing Global Ayurveda Festival, Chennithala stressed the need to deliberate on the opportunities that will help launch Ayurveda to global platform.
The two-day International Business Meet (IBM) on Ayurveda aims to bring key stakeholders from the industry to evolve a road map for harnessing the global opportunities.
Pointing out that the initiative should be spearheaded by the Union Government and the states concerned, Chennithala called for giving more importance to research and development activities in Ayurveda.
He also expressed concern over the protest from various quarters against the possible inclusion of Ayurveda in the Defence personnel health segment.
Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) Managing Director Aruna Sundararajan said the corporation will establish an international cell to promote Ayurveda industry.

She said that 12 countries have approached KSIDC with venture plans and the corporation will plans to create single window cell for according approvals.
The establishment of an Ayurveda Park would soon be a reality, she said.
T K A Nair, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Honorary KSIDC Chairman and Dr V K Banwari, Minister of Education, Republic of Mauritius also spoke.
