Scholars, who participated in the Academy's centenary celebrations which concluded here yesterday, emphasised to forge a better understanding of other religions and cultures too for strengthening religious harmony in the society.
"Allama Shibli had initiated literary campaign in order to counter the wrong propaganda against Islam and it is time again to take the same ahead for giving countering allegations with regard to Islam and its history," Academy's director Ishtiyaq Ahmed Zilli said in his speech at the concluding session.
Scholars also felt the need to translate the rare and precious books available with the Academy from Urdu to Hindi and English to cater the need of the new generation.
The scholars and experts from several countries like the US, Egypt, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey were of the view that the Academy needs to continue with the work it had been doing successfully since its inception.
