All cases of post-poll violence across West Bengal are being investigated by the state police as all central forces will start leaving from tomorrow.
State Additional Director-General of Police (law and order) Anuj Sharma said they were sending additional state forces to maintain law and order upon getting reports of post-poll violence.
"We are investigating all cases. Additional forces are being sent to the districts where post-poll violence is reported," he said.
The 361 companies of central police forces which were stationed in the two districts of Cooch Behar and East Midnapore will be de-inducted from tomorrow.
Barring 78 companies who will be there to guard strong rooms containing EVMs, all the central forces will be relocated to other poll-bound states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
In the meantime, another incident of post-poll violence was reported from Murshidabad where Bapi Sarkar, 55, was shot at allegedly by three bike-born unidentified assailants in Baharampur.
He has been shifted to a Kolkata hospital, the police said.
