The CBI has arrested a Joint Chief Controller of Explosive, Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organisation here in a case of alleged bribery, the agency said today.
AK Yadav, Joint Chief Controller of Explosive, Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organisation, Chennai, had demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 30,000 from one D Sakthivel for issuance of licence under the Explosives Act, CBI said.
"Both AK Yadav and D Sakthivel were intercepted by the CBI team and have been arrested," a CBI release here said.
CBI Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case of corruption against the two persons, besides a 'middleman' Kumaresan, it added.
