"Look at the appointments of the President, the Prime Minister and the Governors. They are all RSS people," the Assam MP said, adding that the BJP-RSS combine will "destroy the social fabric" of the country.
Alleging that the central government schemes were floated on the recommendations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS), Gogoi said, "Demonetization was not the idea of the Reserve Bank of India, it was done on the advice of the RSS."
Alleging that the BJP has failed to keep its promise of creating 2 crore jobs for the youths, he said the ruling government is only "interested in curbing the freedom of people".
"The harsh reality is that only 1.35 lakh jobs were added in 8 labour intensive sectors in 2015 as compared to the 9.3 lakh jobs that were created in 2011," he said.

When asked about the jobs created by the Congress in Meghalaya in the past five years, the Congress leader said Meghalaya is the number 2 in the North East in job creation.
The Congress leader also attacked the National Peoples' Party, an ally of the BJP, and said the party, under the leadership of Conrad K Sangma, is acting like a "Trojan horse" for Prime Minister Modi and National BJP President Amit Shah.
"The NPP is preparing for the backdoor entry of the saffron party in the North East and in Meghalaya. We have to realize that this election is about protecting the identity of the people of this state," he said.
