Union Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal today said that Central ministers would tour Tamil Nadu from next month, listen to people's grievances and take steps to address them.
"From May 2 onwards Central ministers will visit several places [in Tamil Nadu] and listen to the grievances of the people and will address them," Goyal told reporters here at the airport.
He said the Modi government would undertake schemes for people's welfare in the state.
Several projects for sectors including the textiles, farming and fishermen will be implemented, he added.
On the electricity situation in Tamil Nadu, he said the Centre would fulfil the state's power needs.
The Minister said South India will get 6,000 MW of power in the next few years.
"We will take all efforts to make Tamil Nadu a forerunner [in the country]," he said.
The Minister is on his way to participate at a party function at neighbouring Tiruvallur.
