The Commissioner for Central Railway Safety Chetan Bakshi and some officials inspected the coach that caught fire yesterday and also visited the injured at the hospital.

Bakshi later told reporters that a public hearing would be held in about four months to elicit views of people about the incident.

An injured Nassima (40) told mediapersons at the hospital she and her relatives saw six Hindi and Kannada speaking youth with a can, which smelt of petrol.

Two other injured said that the youth, who boarded the train here were not seen when the fire broke out.

The mishap occurred when a bogie of the Solapur-bound passenger train from Hyderabad caught fire during its halt at the station here.

There were over 15 passengers in the bogie of the Falaknuma Passenger after it arrived here at 12.30 PM and caught fire, but six jumped to safety.

Some of the passengers were headed for Tuljapur in Maharashtra to attend the Bhavani festival which takes place during Navaratri.
