Employees of Central Secretariat Service, who form the backbone of administrative work at the central government, have demanded removal of career-related stagnation and timely promotions.
A delegation of Central Secretariat Service (CSS) forum met Union Minister Jitendra Singh here today and said that various employees were getting superannuated as Under Secretaries or even Section Officers despite putting in 20-22 years of services without getting due promotions.
Whereas, the promotion from Under Secretary to Deputy Secretary requires only five years of approved service, they said. The delegation, led by its Convener, D N Sahoo also handed over a memorandum to Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
Singh assured that the problems and grievances faced by the employees will certainly be resolved.
The total strength of CSS, which includes officials at the level of Director, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, Section Officers and Assistants, is 11,467.
