Central team scouting locations for IIP, IIFT visits KSEZ

A Central team today visited Kakinada SEZ and inspected the sites proposed for establishment of regional offices of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP).
The team, comprising N C Saha, IIP Director (Mumbai), and Ravi Sankar of IIFT (New Delhi), was led by R K Oza, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industries.
East Godavari Collector H. Arun Kumar accompanied the team in various areas in KSEZ and explained to them the growth potential and about upcoming major industries.
The KSEZ spread over 10,400 acres is developed as the port-based multi product SEZ and many national and international companies will be setting up their units there.

China has set up a toys-making factory and more factories are in the pipeline in the area.
