Central team to visit J-K, review development projects

A group of top bureaucrats, led by Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth, will visit Jammu and Kashmir on April 13 to review various development projects being undertaken in the state.
The team, which comprises secretaries of ministries like Rural Development, HRD, Tourism, Agriculture, Health, will review the progress of various centrally-sponsored schemes at a meeting to be held with state government officials in Srinagar, official sources said.
The officials will also take stock of the progress of special development schemes being initiated in Jammu and Kashmir in cooperation with corporate sectors for unemployed youth.
The special rehabilitation scheme for surrendered militants will also come up for discussion in the wake of arrest of a Kashmiri man by Delhi Police last fortnight, the sources said.
While Delhi Police claimed that Liyaqat Shah was a terrorist, while the Jammu and Kashmir government has been maintaining that he was former militant and arrested while coming from PoK to surrender to take benefit of the Centre's special rehabilitation scheme.
