The team headed by joint secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bhagwan Shankar yesterday visited the quake-hit areas to assess the damages and review earthquake measures taken by the state government in the region, an official spokesman said today.
The team also convened a meeting of officials and conducted aerial and ground survey to assess the damages in the district.
Saleem Mohammad, DDC Kishtwar, in a presentation appraised the team about the measures and response of the district administration following the 5.6 magnitude quake that struck Chenab Valley on May 1, 2013 with its epicentre at Bhaderwah.
The inter-ministerial central team includes Jugal Kishore Sharma, Deputy Adviser in the Planning Commission, B L Meena, Assistant Director Union Ministry of Finance and B K Singh from the Union Ministry of Rural Development as members.
Shankar revealed that the team will finalise its report within a week and submit it to the Centre.
