Central team visits Thoppur

A Central team to inspect the five proposed sites for setting up an All India Institute of Sciences in Tamil Nadu today inspected the Thoppur area in this district.
The five-member team, led by Dr Dharitri Pande, was inspecting sites where land measuring more than 200 acres was available for the AIIMS, officials said.
The state government had selected five sites and sent them for the Centre's consideration. One of the sites was Thoppur where 250 acres was available for setting up the Hospital, officials said.
