Central university will have one campus: Virbhadra

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today alleged that the opposition BJP is playing politics over setting up the Central University in district Kangra and said that he won't allow two campuses of the varsity.
"BJP favoured that the university should have two separate campuses -- one at Dehra (Hamirpur) and other at Dharamsala (Kangra)-- and just because of this attitude, the institute was sandwiched between the cheap politics," he said.
The chief minister expressed his views while addressing a gathering at Jawalamukhi in Kangra.
He said that he won't allow two campuses of the varsity.
Singh also announced opening of sub divisional police officers (SDPO) office at Jawalamukhi and up-gradation of government middle school Amb Salhettar, Bandol, Dol (Kathog) and Chaukath.
Besides, he announced opening of CT scan facility on PPP Mode in civil hospital Jawalamukhi.

The Chief Minister, on his week-long visit to attend the winter session of HP assembly, which will begin from Friday at Tapovan in Dharamsala, made a day's halt at Jawalamukhi and performed the foundation stone laying ceremonies of projects worth Rs 16 crore.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of additional accommodation of HPPWD rest house at Jawalamukhi to be constructed at a cost of Rs 92 lakhs.
He also laid foundation stone of the Rs 2.50 crore 50-bedded civil hospital, science block of Jawalaji Degree College to cost Rs 5 crore and Rs 7.60 crore mini secretariat building at Jawalamukhi.
