Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today accused the Centre of adopting a passive attitude towards the development of the state.
"SP government is fully cooperating with the Centre on the issue of development but Modi government is not adopting a right attitude for the progress of the state," Yadav, who attended a function here at the residence of State Minister Ram Govind Chaudhary, told reporters.
The state government was extending its cooperation over Modi's project of developing his constituency, Varanasi, as a smart city for which Japan has offered assistance.
Similarly the United States and Nepal have shown interest for the development of Allahabad and Ayodhya respectively and state government is cooperating on it, the chief minister said.
Akhilesh alleged that Modi government was not supporting the SP regime in the construction of national highways and the latter was facing the wrath of public over their bad shape.
