Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has approved 13 new One-Stop Centres (OSC) to support women facing violence both within the family and at public places, a senior official said on Friday.
The new OSCs will be established in Samba, Udhampur, Poonch, Reasi, Ramban, Kishtwar, Pulwama, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Shopian, Kulgam and Kargil districts, Secretary, Social Welfare department, Farooq Ahmad Lone said.
He said with the establishment of the 13 new OSCs, the total number of such centres in the state will go up to 22, covering all districts.
Lone said these centres will be fully funded by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development and Rs 5.65 crore have been earmarked for the new OSCs.
He said the project proposal was formulated by the state resource centre for women of Jammu and Kashmir Department of Social Welfare.
Lone said OSCs aim to support women facing violence within the family, community and at workplace.

Women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, will be provided support and their grievances would be redressed, the official said.
He said the OSCs will facilitate immediate, emergency and non- emergency access to a range of services, including medical, legal, psychological support under one roof against any forms of violence against women.
