"To follow the principle of cooperative federalism as suggested by the Prime Minister, it is necessary that the Centre makes schemes in consultation with the state governments to propel the pace of development.
"But in the 2015-16 Union Budget, without consulting the states, the Centre all of a sudden decided to reorganise centrally sponsored schemes and one of its fallouts will be that it will put additional financial burden on the states," he said.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also said the Centre should not cut down on resources for the core sector schemes so that states can live up to the commitments made by them to the people.
He said if the Centre continues to provide resources for core sector schemes, it will help fulfill the principle of cooperative federalism as propagated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The sub group has been mandated to examine the current CSS and recommend suitable rationalisation.
