Centre makes provisional allotment of 44 IAS officers for

As many as 44 officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) have been provisionally allocated to the newly-formed state of Telangana, which will formally come into existence from tomorrow.
These 44 officers, who were borne on the undivided cadre of Andhra Pradesh, have been provisionally allocated to Telangana, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.
The provisional allocation will, however, have no bearing on their final allocation, it said.
The final allocation of IAS, Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officers to Telangana will be decided after the DoPT accepts recommendation of a committee in this regard.
The central government-appointed committee has in its preliminary report recommended 163 posts of IAS, 112 of IPS and 65 of IFoS officers for Telangana.
The composition of these three all India services was recommended by a six-member committee, headed by former Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) Pratyush Sinha, in its preliminary report to DoPT.

Of these posts, 114 posts of IAS officers, 78 of IPS and 46 of IFoS are kept in direct recruitment category, the report said.
At present, there are 284 IAS officers, 209 IPS and 136 IFoS officers working in Andhra Pradesh, according to central government data.
Telangana, the country's 29th state, will start functioning tomorrow.
