As per the scheme, those registered with the exchanges would get SMS alerts on jobs available and the job-seekers do not have to make rounds of the exchanges, Dattatreya, who holds independent charge of the Labour Ministry, said.
"If a worker is registered with employment exchange, your cell phone number would be there. What we do is, after registration, you will get information on where jobs are available, electrician, welder, fitter, all these jobs. You are asked to attend the interviews. We are modernising employment exchanges through the National Career Service," he said, addressing a May Day event.
Noting that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking a number of initiatives for the benefit of workmen, he said one crore jobs would be created in the next two years.
The Centre is implementing 'Make in India', 'Digital India' and 'Skill India' initiatives that would herald great changes, he said.

Observing that industries around Hyderabad is likely to grow, he stressed that conducive atmosphere is important for the same.
Meanwhile, the chief minister announced accident insurance cover for 16,000 home-guards personnel and also 12,000 mediapersons in the state.
Rao also announced hike in benefits to labourers in the unorganised sector such as those given at the time of marriage, maternity and disability benefits, natural death and hospitalisation.
He said the government would soon unveil a policy on skill-building centres to be set up in the state.
