Centre ready to support for establishing medical institute: AP

Andhra Pradesh Health Minister K Srinivas today said that the Centre has promised to extend necessary support to set up Rs 1,600 crore medical institution on the lines of AIIMS at Amaravati.
Srinivas, who inaugurated Primary Health Centres at Tallapalem and Chinnapuram villages in the Krishna district, said health centres were constructed with fund of nearly Rs.1.5 crore under the National Rural Health Mission and the 13th Finance Commission.
"The Centre has promised to extend necessary support to set up Rs 1,600 crore medical institution on the lines of AIIMS in Amravathi," he said.
"The State government is preparing to introduce the services of 'Anna Sanjeevani' medical shops. The scheme would be named after Telugu Desam Party founder and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N T Rama Rao," the minister added.
AP Excise and B C Welfare Minister K Ravindra was present on the occasion.
