The Centre and the Rajasthan government are working on several welfare schemes for the upliftment of scheduled castes and Dalits, state BJP general secretary (organisation) Chandra Shekhar said today.
He also asked party workers to hold 'Ratri Chaupals' and organise 'Bheem Sammelans' at the district level.
Hitting out at the Congress, the BJP general secretary said the party has treated Dalits as mere vote bank and has played politics to divide people on caste lines.
The BJP is working to take all sections of society together and the Centre and the state government is working on various public welfare schemes for the upliftment of scheduled castes (SC) and Dalits, he said at a state-level meeting here.
The government is working on schemes to provide scholarship, hostel facilities and education loans for students from weaker section of society, Shekhar said.
