Centre, states to discuss startup issues on July 23

Central government departments, states and other stakeholders, including investors, on Saturday will discuss policies and progress made on the Startup India initiative.
The discussions will happen during a day-long conference, being organised by the Commerce and Industry Ministry.
At this platform "all stakeholders particularly states will discuss the progress, policies and good practices they have made on the Startup India initiative," the ministry said in a statement.
The startup India initiative, launched in January this year, aims at fostering entrepreneurship and promoting innovation by creating an ecosystem that is conducive for growth of startups.
State governments of Telangana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kerala and Karnataka would be presenting the initiatives undertaken by them to promote startups, the statement said.
Besides states, startups, investors, incubators, various ministries and departments of central Government related to Startups will be part of separate panel discussions on various facets of the initiative.

"While the startups will share their growth stories and expectations from the government, the investors will deliberate on access of funds in different stages of the startup life-cycle," it said.
Frameworks and models to provide infrastructure, mentoring and handholding to startups will be discussed by a panel of selected Incubators, it added.
The ministries and departments working on Startup India initiative would also deliberate on implementation of Startup India Action Plan and way forward.
