At a meeting of Member of Parliaments from North East here, Tomar underscored the Centre will consider on emphasising the state specific problems of the region as a special case while formulating action plans in coming days.
"The Central government is very much concerned about overall development of the rural areas of the North Eastern states," he added.
While highlighting on the priorities of rural development, Tomar stressed on the united efforts of Centre-State and informed about the vision of implementing rural road connectivity by 2019.
Addressing on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Ram Kripal Yadav spoke in length on the key issues of rural development, its monitoring system and good governance framework.
Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain stressed on taking necessary steps for maintenance of rural infrastructure, including road and electrification.
The participating MPs raised the drinking water problem in Guwahati and other parts, issue of AADHAAR cards in Assam, flood problem, soil conditions hindering the construction of roads, salaries of rural development officials and generalised scheme guidelines among others.
