CEO unveils LED board to project election messages

With an aim to creating awareness among the electorate on various ethical messages relating to election and also the sacrosanct nature of votes,
Chief Electoral Officer of Puducherry V Candavelou today unveiled an LED information board on the beach road here.
The LED display board provided the voters with information regarding phone numbers to lodge complaints on breach of model code of conduct and other violations.
It would be on display till the election, the CEO said.
Besides, Candavelou launched a signature campaign at the venue for registering the pledge of the voters that they would not not fall prey to any inducements and would not give room for any unwholesome emotions like race, religion and caste while exercising franchise.
The CEO who joined the massive turnout of people on the beach road signed the board first and then the young and old voters joined him to put their signatures on the broad board kept on the parapet wall.
He said the continued updation of the voter's list was on and as on date Puducherry had a total voters strength of 9.33 lakhs.
A group of youth playing music drew the attention of all those who had turned up at the sea shore to pledge their support for 'free and fair polls'.
