Children Film Society India (CFSI) today said that it will market all the films screened at the 18th International Children's Film Festival to overcome the distribution problems for children movies.
Speaking at an open forum on 'Role of State: Arab, Asian Children's films' conducted in connection with the ICFFI, CFSI CEO Shravan Kumar said strategies will be made to make children films more commercially viable.
Participants in the discussion said inadequate number of children's films being made in the country was one of the reasons for problems related to their distribution and commercial viability.
Sannette Naeya, Director of the Syndicate Foundation of Netherlands, said that in the fast changing scenario, where children spent more time with social media than school time, the need of the hour is for governments to extend support to institutions producing children's movies, rather than directly do so themselves.
Fauzia Minallah, a jury member for the animation category at the festival, said that animation is a splendid medium to make children's films.
"My time is dedicated to share art with children. I am also trying to organise art workshops and provide picture books free of cost to them on behalf of my organisation named Funkhor Childart Centre," Fauzia Minallah, who is an artist, author and peace activist from Pakistan said.
